What is better than sipping top South African wines in a beautiful setting? Pairing flavours with delicious bites and unique experiences, of course.
Nuy on the hill is situated alongside the R60 between Worcester and Robertson. The building has a modern look and feel and it was designed to accommodate Nuy’s wine tasting facilities, a deli section and a large, glass-fronted restaurant that offers sweeping views across the Breedekloof vineyards.
To harmonise perfectly with a selection of Nuy’s wines and brandies, they are pairing it with a variety of deliciously sweet treats. After all, life’s too short – enjoy a taste of sweetness!
NUY MASTERY CHARDONNAY 2017
The Nuy Mastery range is a wooded wine collection. This Mastery Chardonnay has been aged for a minimum of 12 months. It has a beautifully balanced wood, lime and citrus tones on the nose and palate. Best enjoyed chilled on a hot summers day with your favourite creamy pasta or fish dish.
This was paired with a date ball or “dadelballetjie” as we would say it in Afrikaans.
NUY MUSCAT SPARKLING WINE
Semi-sweet sparkling made from Red Muscadel. Summer wine with candyfloss, Turkish delight and rose petals on the finish.
This was paired with a raspberry macaroon to balance the flavours of the sparkling wine. It normally gets paired with a delicious turkish delight.
NUY COPPER POTSTILLED BRANDY
Fruity, fresh with hints of roasted nuts, crushed green herbs, sun dried peaches and spice cake. Long smooth, lingering spicy finish.
This was paired with a delicious, creamy fudge.
Open Monday to Sunday from 9:00 am to late afternoon. Nuy on the Hill is definitely worth the drive with so much to do. Spend time wine tasting, let your kids explore the garden, playground and a playroom. Or if the tummy is rumbling, take a seat and enjoy a delicious meal with spectacular views.
