Tokara releases outstanding new Cap vintage

Celebrate the wonder of Cap Classique with Tokara’s glorious 2014 vintage just released by this prestigious family owned Stellenbosch wine estate.

The 4th cuvée of this magnificent blanc de blancs is crafted exclusively from Tokara’s prized cool climate Chardonnay vineyard in Elgin. The extraordinary depth of flavour, elegance and complexity of the 2014 vintage can be attributed to barrel maturation of the base wine for 10 months followed by almost eight years (82 months) on the lees in the bottle to develop richness and finesse.

The mousse is exceptionally fine and consistent, enlivened by aromas of lightly toasted almonds, lemon preserve and a hint of fresh green apple. These zesty aromas are enriched on the palate by freshly baked gougères. Hints of celery salt lead to a focused saline finish, so typical of the Elgin terroir.

The finest of Cap Classiques, the palate is a wonderful interplay between silky fluidity, crystalline acidity and fine mousse. It is incredibly moreish and will leave you yearning for another sip,” says winemaker Stuart Botha.

The dashing Tokara Cap Classique 2014 is set apart by its unusual bottle, specially designed to lend gravitas and sophistication. Exquisite gift packaging completes the narrative making this the premier pick for toasting significant celebrations and festive season gifting.

Tokara Cap Classique 2014 is available at selected wine shops and the Tokara Tasting Lounge at the cellar door price of R685. For online purchases, visit http://www.tokara.com.
